Oh dear me, it really has been a minute

Sometimes its hard to write a blog. I'm great with conversation but the constant monologuing kills me. Anyways....Last week my mom and I picked up my dress from the shop. Its one hundred percent mine! And surprisingly enough it still fits. I've been terrible with the late midnight cookie and things covered in cheese snacks. My dress is a little tight and considering I have to breathe in it for a full day + the time it takes for bridals I think I'll lose a bit of my soft stuff. Starting tomorrow Angie's Biggest Loser starts. The pot is roughly $100. Here's hoping that my competitive side will help me meet the fitness goal I set oh...two months ago?

I've gathered a few pictures from various places that inspire the whole decorating thing. Tell me what you think.

Bridal Fair

And In No Way Relating To Weddings...

Meet Master Bruce and Catwoman. They complete me...except when Master Bruce gets poo on his neck.
So with half the wedding planned *just not paid for ;)* things are going a lot slower than before...hehe I still spend 2-3 hours a day talking on the phone with vendors, going over catalogs, websites and books though. Yesterday we found our bridesmaids dresses! We made a day trip to David's Bridal in Layton and killed about two hours looking at colors, styles and such. I've been telling my bridesmaids that they don't need matching dresses, just the same color...funny because they picked the same dress anyways. They looked lovely... I suppose I should introduce my wedding party eh? I'm lucky enough to have two maids-of-honor.

Izzie
and I have been friends since we were 13. I'm not sure
I would have survived school let alone puberty without her spunky sense of humor and style. She's the one that has to listen to incessant wedding chatter, which she can't fully escape since she lives with me... This picture was taken at my Disney princess themed birthday party she threw me. One of our favorite past-times is to dress up, make some freakazoid expression and take best friend pictures. My living room is riddled with about twenty of them. She loves kittens and hates doing the laundry as much as me.

And then we have this sinfully beautiful lady *I totally facebook stalked this picture*. This is Makinley. She married my brother, Tyler two years ago shortly after orchestrating the blind date between Kev and I. She's been such an amazing friend. I go over to her house for breakfast and before we know it its 11pm and my brother is shooing me out of the house. She's been completely indispensable with all the plans. She helped me pick the colors, centerpieces and other decorations not to mention she's letting me stash all my wedding crap in her basement. Love her!

So back to the dresses... David's Bridal has an option on their website to create a draft of your wedding party. Its kinda cute...if you ignore the funny looking people you can pick from. Kev's looks like he just tooted and the others are smelling the stinky.... Take a look.

This is really more of an idea board so I could see how the colors would look, but I kinda like it. I have an appointment on Thursday to look at tuxes. Kevin is so helpful. I asked him what I should look for and he said something black that includes pants and a jacket...this was almost as helpful as him telling me that for the guest book we should go to Walmart and pick up a spiral notebook and a sharpie.

Picture Perfect

I finally have some pictures of Kevin and I that are not almost three years old...they're only a year and a half. The first time I went to Washington Kevin took me to Point Defiance and it fast became one of our favored playgrounds. .

If you take a short little stroll through the foliage you come to a bench and this is the view. It was right here, on the other side of the tree that Kevin proposed. Cute, huh? Every time I voyage out to see Kev we go there. Its so beautiful and as long as you don't stumble upon a couple of teenagers kissing and groping each other its quite romantic! My sister and I are thinking this might be the perfect place for engagements! We'll see if the weather agrees with us... although in Washington it rarely does... I should have known something was up the day Kev wanted to go for a picnic and a stroll by the water in the rain, but sweetly oblivious me just thought he wanted some air.

And now some pictures to show what a creepy, cute couple we make. In the picture on the right he was telling some little guy how to "click" the camera...apparently he already knew and caught Kev looking oh so funny.

Naming These Things Is Always The Hardest

What an intense, crazy week. Work was nuts, full of crackpots with odd requests, or maybe they just seemed extra needy because I've been trying to get over the sniffles. Also one of my roommates/bridesmaids decided she's moving back to Maryland so now living arrangements are all topsy-turvy and we're not sure what's gonna happen and who will live where and the second bridesmaid thing goes unresolved.

And the craziest worst... My grandpa was released from the hospital into hospice's care so that he can spend his last few days in his home with his family. Unfortunately I've never been very close to my grandpa, but he's still family and so naturally its hard. My daddy, as always is such a soothing, funny man. He told me tonight to cry a bit and then try to think on happier things...like what the next six colors I'll want for the wedding scheme *cute right...the jerk ;)*

That's right, I veered from my original purple, blue and silver...now its purple, dark azure, soft blue, pastel green and cream. I showed the palette to Kev and he loves it... I think, he may just be placating me...hehe good man. http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/1302985/Wedding

As far as upcoming wedding events, Petals and Promises (the dress shop) called and asked me to be a model for their size 8 in the upcoming bridal fair. I momentarily lost my mind and agreed. Shortly after, I recovered a suppressed memory of a fashion show long ago. I was a "flower girl" and I got so terrified I bolted off the stage and I'm fairly sure tears ensued. Eek... Tomorrow my sister Kin and I are popping into the store to find the dress for it and possibly scoping out Lowe's for some paint swatches so we can really get focused on the fun part...the decorating.

The Bridal Fair is on Sept. 25 at the USU Student Center from 10:00 to 5:00. My sister, Brittney and my future sister-in-law Lorenza (that's right, Brandon's getting married) and I are planning on a fun wedding tidbit filled day, We would love if anyone else would like to come with us, maybe even grab a small bite afterwards. If you wont be able to make it, don't feel bad because I'll be grateful for one or two less people watching me make a G'D fool of myself on the catwalk...blech.

Barring A Natural Disaster We'll Be Done Right Quick

Holy moley... I just realized Kevin and I have been engaged for twelve days, which means it was less than two weeks ago he informed we couldn't sneak off to a nice, quiet justice of the peace because...well our families would kick us.

In two weeks we have already picked the date, the colors, our venue, our wedding party, my dress, invitations, the cake, the photographer, and quite possibly bridesmaid dresses.

All of this was only made possible because we've been surrounded by such amazing examples of love and family. I never knew planning a wedding could be so stress free, fun and easy. I just want to thank everyone for being so amazing, I always knew I had good taste in friends ;). Alright, Crystal is getting goofy, rambling and is referring to herself in the third person so its definitely time to take a snooze.
